About The Position

North Central Co-op is seeking a Part-time Yard Attendant to join their team at the Home Centre in Stony Plain, AB. This role involves providing customer service, managing orders and deliveries, receiving and documenting product, and ensuring the safe operation of company equipment, including a forklift. The position requires availability for various shifts between 9 am and 7 pm, with open availability being a requirement. Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years of previous lumber yard experience
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for success
• Open availability is required

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a Home Centre retail location would be considered an asset
• Previous retail experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide professional advice and support to all members and customers in the Home Centre
• Consult with customers to assemble orders and arrange deliveries
• Assist in receiving product and reviewing documentation to ensure proper quantity, type of product being delivered and record any shortages
• Advise management of any stock deficiencies
• Pick-up deliveries from suppliers as directed, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate
• Collect payment on C.O.D. deliveries and coordinate pick-up of returned items from customers
• Ensure safe and proper operation of all company equipment, including the forklift
• Support in other departments and with other duties as required
