This two-year dual appointment combines candidacy in Yale University’s Executive Master of Public Health (eMPH) program with a Clinical Associate position in Diagnostic Radiology. It is intended for a post-residency diagnostic radiologist seeking to become an informatics leader in private or academic practice. The Clinical Associate will maintain a clinical role in a chosen imaging section and participate in broader departmental informatics initiatives. Clinical responsibilities vary by section, and clinical work will be regularly proctored and reviewed by attending physicians. The candidate will also lead or contribute to one or more projects from the Chair’s office. Projects may involve research, operational programming, innovation initiatives, teleradiology programmatic growth, or process improvement. The clinical appointment may be in Emergency and Trauma Imaging, Breast Imaging, Body Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, or Musculoskeletal Imaging. Depending on the selected clinical pathway, the associate may remain in a traditional fellowship-style role in the second year or work as an independent staff attending. Emergency Imaging candidates may also choose an independent staff attending role for the full two-year program. Beginning in late July, the candidate will pursue the two-year eMPH program on the Health Informatics track. The hybrid program includes three on-campus class sessions over 24 months and online coursework. The fellow will not be scheduled for clinical work in the period leading up to or during class times. The fellowship ends after 24 months, with a Yale Diagnostic Radiology fellowship completion certificate and the Yale University MPH degree. Salary depends on the clinical pathway. For a traditional fellowship track, the first-year salary is currently $96,757, with a commitment to 10 weekend Emergency Department day shifts. In the second year, the fellow is expected to work 212 shift equivalents for a salary of $135,187. For an independent staff attending role in Emergency Imaging, the salary is $135,187 per year, with 212 shift equivalents including overnight, evening, weekend, and weekday shifts. Additional Emergency Department shifts may be accepted for incremental pay. The fellow also receives full tuition reimbursement for the eMPH program, a $1,000 annual book/travel allowance that may be applied to eMPH experiential costs, and departmental office space.
