About The Position

The Foreman supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel based on their skill, experience, and job knowledge. This role involves supervising and training employees to enhance the quality and quantity of their work, as well as recommending and assisting in the development of training procedures. The Foreman is responsible for translating broad strategies into practical action plans and ensuring employees are adequately trained to execute these plans. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all technical aspects of the job, such as adherence to drawings and procedures. The position also holds responsibility for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that significantly impact the company's financial performance. The Foreman supervises qualified trades staff and monitors job and budget performance across all shifts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR
  • Apprentice Certification OR
  • High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR
  • Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge
  • Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed
  • Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees
  • Assists in development of training procedures
  • Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans
  • Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc.
  • Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance
  • Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts
