The X-Ray Technologist performs general X-ray and Bone Density procedures, including work at satellite offices as requested. The role is accountable for managing care delivery and patient safety, preparing patients for procedures, obtaining and documenting patient information, and producing quality diagnostic images. The technologist operates and maintains imaging equipment, follows radiation-safety and infection-control procedures, supports fluoroscopic procedures, and completes required quality-control activities. The position is per diem and typically requires four shifts within each six-week scheduling grid, including at least two weekend shifts and at least one holiday per year. Once an assigned shift is accepted, the technologist is responsible for obtaining coverage if adequate notice is not given; shift trades or drop requests require manager approval. The role also includes general radiology operations duties such as helping orient technical staff, maintaining equipment records and supplies, coordinating patient appointments, and supporting quality-control programs. Physical demands include pushing and pulling, lifting, moving between locations, using hand and finger dexterity, maintaining balance while climbing, bending or reaching, and prolonged standing or walking. Environmental and exposure risks include chemicals, chemotherapy and fumes, loud noises, allergens, radiation, sharps, latex, combative patients or visitors, and possible exposure to infectious hazards, blood, body fluids, non-intact skin, or tissue specimens. The listed pay range is $37.69–$47.12 per hour. VillageMD describes a benefits platform that includes medical, dental, life, disability and vision coverage, FSA coverage, and a 401(k) savings plan.
