About The Position

Nemours is seeking an X-Ray Technologist (CASUAL/PRN), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida. As a PRN X-Ray Technologist at Nemours Children's Hospital, you will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a compassionate, patient- and family-centered environment. Working alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you'll help deliver exceptional care while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our pediatric patients. This flexible, as-needed role offers the opportunity to support a nationally recognized children's health system while making a meaningful impact on the communities we serve. Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 130-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. Requirements

Associate's Degree required.
Current State of Florida Radiology Technologist License required.
ARRT Registered required.
American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.
Travel to clinic locations required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging protocols, radiation safety and a working knowledge of all radiology equipment.
Must have the ability to work well with others, acts as a team member.
Ability to work independently and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care.
Regular attendance is required.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, must have reliable transportation and must be able to work on an on – call basis.
Good Communication skills are required. In addition to accepting feedback, asking questions and active communication with counterparts and all departments.

Responsibilities

Perform x-ray procedures including fluoroscopic procedures under the direction of a physician with established methods and procedures.
Responsible for patient care, proper operation of all general diagnostic equipment.
Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
Responsible for Patient/caregiver interactions and provides accurate preparation instructions to patient/caregiver with the ability to answer pertinent procedural questions.
Responsible for patient identification, proper identification of all images, PACS interaction and documentation.
Operates hospital computer system for patient data entry and retrieval.
Aids in the training of new personnel, students and physicians.
Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance.
Reports unsafe conditions and incidents.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, as attached to the annual performance appraisal document, with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, developmental age or social maturity of the patient.
