About The Position

Nemours is seeking a CT/X-Ray Technologist (Casual/PRN) to join their pediatric imaging team in Orlando, Florida. This role involves performing both CT and diagnostic X-ray examinations, including fluoroscopic procedures, for patients of all ages from infants to young adults. The technologist will work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, focusing on safety, quality, and patient experience. Responsibilities include patient care, proper operation of general diagnostic and CT equipment, and maintaining a friendly environment. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and medical personnel. The role also involves participation in quality assessment and improvement programs.

Requirements

Associate's Degree from an accredited Radiology program.
Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience.
ARRT Registered upon hire.
State of Florida Radiology Technologist License required upon hire.
American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Regular attendance required.

Nice To Haves

CT preferred or must be obtained within 18 months.
Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform CT and diagnostic X-ray examinations, including fluoroscopic procedures.
Provide total patient care in a comfortable, friendly environment.
Operate general diagnostic and 256 slice Computerized Tomography Scanner equipment.
Maintain knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging and computerized tomography imaging protocols, and radiation safety.
Perform patient examinations as protocolled by the designated radiologist.
Prepare rooms, explain procedures, and answer patient/family questions.
Screen patients for contraindications to imaging procedures.
Assist radiologists by evaluating patients and obtaining written screening for contrast media administration.
Start IVs and inject contrast material for imaging studies, observing for allergic reactions.
Maintain work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, reporting unsafe conditions and incidents.
Operate hospital computer systems for patient data entry, retrieval, order entry, and completion of studies.
Determine proper radiation exposure factors for CT to minimize patient dose.
Ensure proper function of equipment through usage and maintenance.
Provide care appropriate to the age of the patient (infant, child, adult).
Aid in the training of new personnel, students, and physicians.
Participate in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement.
