About The Position

Nemours is seeking a CT/X-Ray Technologist (Casual/PRN) to join their Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida. This role involves performing both CT and diagnostic X-ray examinations in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The technologist will care for patients of all ages, from infants to young adults, with a focus on safety, quality, and patient experience. The ideal candidate is adaptable, team-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality imaging services to support pediatric care. The Radiologic / CT Technologist performs x-ray procedures, including fluoroscopic procedures, under physician direction, ensuring proper operation of general diagnostic equipment and providing total patient care in a comfortable, friendly environment. Excellent communication skills are essential for continuous interaction with the public and medical personnel. The role also involves participation in departmental and hospital quality assessment and improvement programs.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required from an accredited Radiology program.
  • Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year experience required.
  • ARRT Registered required upon hire.
  • State of Florida Radiology Technologist License required upon hire.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CT preferred or must be obtained within 18 months.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform x-ray procedures including fluoroscopic procedures under the direction of a physician.
  • Responsible for patient care and proper operation of all general diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform Computerized Tomography imaging studies while providing a quality health care service.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement.
  • Work with a 256 slice Computerized Tomography Scanner and Windows workstation.
  • Perform Computerized Tomography imaging studies.
  • Provide accurate room preparation and instructions to patient / family.
  • Physically prepare patient for examination, explaining the imaging procedure and answering questions.
  • Screen patients for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others.
  • Assist radiologists by evaluating patients and obtaining written screening for administration of contrast media.
  • Start IV’s and inject contrast material for imaging studies.
  • Observe patient for allergic reaction after administration of contrast.
  • Maintain work habits consistent with hospital and department policies.
  • Report unsafe conditions and incidents to the immediate supervisor.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits.
  • Operate hospital computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval/ order entry and completion of study.
  • Determine proper radiation exposure factors for CT to minimize patient dose according to protocols set by the radiologist.
  • Ensure proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance.
  • Provide care with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, developmental age or social maturity of the patient.
  • Aids in the training of new personnel, students and physicians.
  • Regular attendance required.
  • Good Communication skills are required.
