About The Position

This position involves operating radiologic equipment to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and accurate anatomical alignment. The technologist will prepare and administer contrast media, monitor patient vitals, and assess for reactions. Responsibilities include reviewing images, completing quality assurance, transferring studies to PACS, and adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure. The role also requires preparing supplies, assisting with specialized exams, explaining procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals for optimal patient care and workflow.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.
  • Current license in the State of Montana as a Radiology Technologist and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a temporary license in the State of Montana and AART registry eligible with ARRT guidance required.
  • Permanent license and registration with ARRT will be required within 5 months of hire.
  • Current BLS is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers.
  • Demonstrated ability for interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to receive feedback and ability to adapt to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years’ experience in radiology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm correct patient, exam, and pregnancy status before imaging.
  • Ensure comfort, safety, and accurate anatomical alignment.
  • Operate radiologic equipment using ALARA principles to produce high-quality images.
  • Safely prepare, explain, and monitor IV or oral contrast when required.
  • Assess vitals and watch for medication or contrast reactions.
  • Review images, complete QA, and transfer studies accurately to PACS.
  • Use shielding, control exposure areas, and follow all safety standards.
  • Prepare supplies and assist with specialized or sterile imaging exams.
  • Explain procedures, risks, benefits, and post-exam instructions clearly.
  • Work with technologists, nurses, and providers to ensure smooth workflow and excellent patient experience.
