About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring physicians of any specialty to provide wound care and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across San Jose, California. The role offers full-time or part-time options, clinical autonomy, hands-on procedures, and a weekday schedule without nights, weekends, or call. Comprehensive wound care training is provided; previous wound care or procedural experience is not required. Physicians follow patients through healing and collaborate with care teams in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings. Compensation is described as an average annual range of $250,000–$500,000 for full-time physicians, with uncapped earnings as an independent contractor. Pay is per patient and per procedure, with quarterly bonus programs; top performers may earn more than $500,000 through performance bonuses. The position requires pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Unrestricted or clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
Physicians from any specialty are welcome.
Completed residency and board certification or eligibility are not required.
Previous wound care or procedural experience is not required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.
Candidates must complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Responsibilities

Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
Collaborate on patient care in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings.
Follow patients through healing and build ongoing patient relationships.
Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities.
