About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Wound Care Nurse (RN) provides compassionate care to patients during vulnerable stages of recovery and helps preserve skin integrity through wound and skin care strategies. The role is based in Phoenix, Arizona, and is full-time, Monday through Friday, with eight-hour shifts. Compensation is $40.88–$54.50 per hour, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Previous wound care experience is needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• One year of related experience required.
• Valid state RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by the start date.
• Complete wound care training within the first 90 days in the role.
• Previous wound care experience needed.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor skin preservation strategies to preserve skin integrity.
• Ensure wound and skin care protocols are approved by the medical staff.
• Organize weekly multidisciplinary wound and skin rounds for high-risk patients and patients with current pressure ulcers or other significant wounds.
• Provide hands-on wound care for difficult and non-healing wounds.
• Serve as a resource to hospital staff on wound and skin care issues.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are met.
