About The Position

The Wound Care LPN works in the Wound Care Clinic at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. This per diem role supports patient recovery and healing by providing wound care, including care for surgical incisions, diabetic ulcers, and pressure injuries. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday for 8-hour day shifts, with no weekends.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school for Licensed Practical Nursing.
• Current Kansas LPN license.
• Current BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess wounds comprehensively to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Monitor wound progression, document changes, and adjust care plans as needed.
• Collaborate with wound care specialists and physicians to optimize treatment strategies.
• Administer treatments, dressings, and therapeutic interventions for various wound types.
• Use evidence-based practices for wound management.
• Provide patients with clear instructions and support to help them follow wound care protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation of wound assessments, treatment plans, and patient responses.
• Work with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with wound care techniques and treatments.
