About The Position

The Wound Care LPN works in the Wound Care Clinic at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. This per-diem role supports patient recovery and optimal healing by assessing and treating wounds, monitoring progress, coordinating care with wound care specialists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team, and helping patients follow wound care protocols. The position is scheduled for an 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday, with no weekends.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Current Kansas LPN license.
• Current BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Monitor wound progression, document changes, and adjust care plans as needed.
• Collaborate with wound care specialists and physicians to optimize treatment strategies.
• Administer treatments, dressings, and therapeutic interventions for various wound types.
• Use evidence-based practices for wound management.
• Provide instructions and support to promote adherence to wound care protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation of wound assessments, treatment plans, and patient responses.
• Work with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with wound care techniques and treatments.
