About The Position

The Area Worship Pastor plays a key role in cultivating a thriving worship culture by fostering excellence, connection, and meaningful moments with Jesus. This role provides worship support across campuses and ministries, leads worship, and offers direct guidance to worship leaders, volunteers, and musicians, primarily at the Mesa/Glendale Campus. This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of Central Christian Church.

Requirements

Must be able to communicate with and inspire a team of creatives
Ability to work independently within scope of assignment; Manages time and prioritizes duties effectively
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and to be flexible in executing last-minute weekend changes
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member
Ability to sing and speak from stage is required
Must align with the vision, and values of Central Christian Church and be committed to doing Central no harm.
Financially support the vision of Central Christian Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
Growing in your personal relationship with Christ, while developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the Church
Model biblical integrity in all things:
Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of Central Christian Church employees, defined by the Employee Handbook
Be an active Owner at Central Christian Church, making every effort to uphold the six staff values of Central.

Responsibilities

Lead worship onstage a minimum of 46 weekends a year (Holidays included)
Lead at Central campuses as scheduled 3-4 times a month – primarily at Mesa/Glendale
Take ownership of CYA and Celebrate Recovery worship experiences
Contribute to the planning and execution of weekend services
Contribute in weekend/event song selection
Work closely with other ministry departments to create and execute weekend and holiday events
Assist with song arrangements
Contribute to songwriting for Central Music
Lead and develop volunteers at Mesa/Glendale
Download and prepare weekend ProPresenter lyric files
Download and prepare weekend Playback arrangements
Recruit, develop, and schedule vocal teams
Assign song leads and keys
Prepare vocal notes for the weekend
Be present in the lobby as much as possible
Own weekend volunteer hospitality
Meet regularly with volunteers
Assist Student Worship Pastor with CSM as needed
Support the vision and direction of Central Christian Church and the Weekend Experience Team, and help create and carry out the vision of the Central Worship ministry under the direction of the Lead Worship Pastor
Participate in “all staff” events
Support other ministries with worship
Other duties as assigned
