About The Position

This role involves providing academic support to student-athletes, focusing on one-on-one or group tutoring in various subjects. The tutor will also assist in developing study skills, improving comprehension of course materials, preparing for tests, and enhancing writing proficiency. Additionally, the role includes monitoring academic progress, referring students to other resources, and ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to student-athletes in various subjects, including but not limited to mathematics, sciences, humanities, and languages.
• Assist student-athletes in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and organizational strategies to enhance their academic performance.
• Aid student-athletes in understanding course materials, assignments, and concepts by breaking down complex topics into manageable components.
• Assist with test preparation strategies, including practice exams, review sessions, and test-taking techniques tailored to individual learning styles.
• Offer guidance on writing skills, including essay structure, research methods, and proofreading to help student-athletes improve their writing proficiency.
• Track and monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, communicate regularly with academic advisors to address any concerns, and submit session reports on time.
• Connect student-athletes with additional academic resources, such as tutoring centers, writing labs, and academic workshops, to support their educational goals.
• Ensure adherence to NCAA academic eligibility requirements and regulations governing academic support services for student-athletes.
