About The Position

At Wycliffe Bible Translators, your work is more than just a job. As a Workforce Specialist, you’ll use your skills to support employer/partner/staff relations for our global workforce (supported/paid staff, volunteers and interns). Your contributions will play a pivotal role in implementing successful administrative and operational support, while ensuring staff and staff relations are healthy, thriving and flourishing as staff realize their call to advance Bible Translation and enhance Wycliffe’s ability to carry out its mission. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in elevating Global Workforce Services’ (GWS) readiness to respond to customers’ requests for assistance, information, guidance, and/or partnership related to GWS workforce services. Additionally, you’ll walk alongside supporting and resourcing staff through important employment touchpoints. As a Workforce Specialist, you’ll apply subject-matter HR expertise to ensure engagements, processes, systems, and communication reflect our organizational/team ethos while remaining responsive to our constituents. You’ll partner with Global Workforce Services leadership and other team members to: Facilitate functions within the Workforce Relations workgroup. Shepherd and steward GWS resources to further Wycliffe USA’s strategic priorities, principles and objectives. Actively participate in GWS team engagements to optimize team culture, cohesion, performance and outcomes. Global Workforce Services (GWS) supports Wycliffe by attracting, retaining, resourcing and supporting a diverse workforce dedicated to advancing Bible translation. Together, we support the full lifecycle of staff, volunteers, interns and contractors — ensuring they are well-equipped, strategically placed and deeply connected to our mission. Requirements

  • Responsible for securing a strong, reliable internet and phone connection when working remotely, based on the approved hybrid schedule.
  • Ability and willingness to alter work schedules in order to work off-hours as needed across time zones.

  • Associate’s degree plus one to three years of work experience in human resources; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Identify with and participate in a church and proactively seek to grow your faith in Christ.
  • Establish and maintain a team of prayer partners who will support you in your season of ministry at Wycliffe (minimum 3-5 partners).

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a minimum of one year of HR experience and/or SHRM-CP/PHR certification required.
  • Nonprofit ministry work or volunteer experience is also beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the Wycliffe/SIL context and ministry service is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation.
  • Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.
  • Live out the conviction that “work flows through relationship” by passionately “loving God and loving people” through word and deed.
  • Promote team and organizational culture standards, ensuring high customer service standards.
  • Collaborate on departmental initiatives to provide a best-in-class experience for Wycliffe USA future and existing staff.
  • Assist with cross-functional team responsibilities and tactical team/departmental initiatives.
  • Represent the GWS team in meetings, projects, workshops and partnership efforts, as assigned.
  • Cooperate inter-departmentally to advance the Bible Translation movement and organizational goals.
  • Contribute to team projects and efforts as requested or assigned.
  • Work alongside the Senior Director and workgroup members to support staff through the touchpoints of their employment experience (staff relations, reconciliation processes, performance management, and coaching processes) with a high level of whole-person care, professionalism, and efficiency.
  • Execute support requests and day-to-day tasks with strict confidentiality and discretion, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of workforce relations functions through project management, administrative and operational support.
  • Assist with performance management, conflict management and reconciliation processes in an effort to build greater trust, unity and harmony amongst employees, supervisors and/or teams.
  • Aid in the triaging and processing of support requests received, engaging in verbal, phone, in-person, and electronic communication.
  • Supports administration, coordination, updates and application of human resources policies, procedures and practices.
  • Convey employment information, guidelines and laws to staff and ensure compliance as deemed appropriate.
  • Act as a liaison between Wycliffe/GWS and staff, ensuring smooth and timely communication and prompt resolution to inquiries or support requests.
  • Collaborate on efforts and strategies that improve staff’s understanding, adoption and reflection of our values and policies.
  • Maintain and submit documentation, correspondence, files, records, and reports on inquiries, developments and resolutions accurately and in accordance with records management protocols.
  • Maintain working knowledge of HR best practices, employee handbook, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to ensure alignment of efforts with protocols and expectations.
  • Hold HR professional licensure and/or certifications to contribute as a subject-matter expert, and provide input and support in implementing HR best practices.
  • Facilitate training and orientations, prepare professional presentations and other documents, fostering a positive attitude toward organizational objectives, policies and HR practice and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Workforce Relations, Senior Director of Workforce Relations and/or Vice President of Workforce Experiences.
