About The Position

The Workforce Readiness Coordinator is responsible for preparing students to become high-quality, career-ready employees who meet the evolving needs of today's workforce. This role directly addresses a clearly identified need expressed by the State of Ohio, employers across Northeast Ohio, and school leaders: the demand for dependable, skilled, and workforce-ready talent. The Workforce Readiness Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring students are not only educated, but prepared-ready to enter the workforce as dependable, skilled, and motivated employees. By aligning programming with real-world employer expectations, this role strengthens ELA's mission, expands its impact, and directly addresses one of the most pressing challenges facing today's workforce. This position directly strengthens and aligns with Career Leadership Academy (CLA), Middle School Career Pathways, and the potential development and implementation of future ELA programming that supports workforce readiness initiatives. This role expands ELA's engagement with employers, school partners, community leaders, and policymakers, positioning ELA as a recognized leader in workforce readiness and talent development. Additionally, The Workforce Readiness Coordinator is a trained Effective Leadership Academy (ELA) team member who employs a dual function of facilitating all ELA programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or associated field
  • 3-5 years of teaching, education or equivalent experience
  • Committed passion to making a difference in the lives of youth
  • Experience working with diverse populations of youth
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and email
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Team player and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High energy and positive mental attitude
  • Must be professionally agile and quickly pivot per business needs arise
  • Maintains confidentiality of all student information
  • Adheres to the ELA curriculum with fidelity, as well as all copyright and trademark issues
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritize new tasks as they come in
  • Valid driver's license and own, reliable transportation
  • Ability to be present at ELA offices, NEO schools, businesses, or organizations when assigned
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand as well as observe details within the workplace or in programming to engage coworkers, students, clients, and perform essential functions
  • Ability to drive/sit for up to one hour while traveling to programming or client meetings
  • Ability to lift and safely transport up to 20 lbs. of program materials from office to car to school/organization and/or move up to 20 lbs. across office for various needs.
  • Must be able to be in a stationary position to operate computer, type, (for extended periods of time/50% to 75%) use copy and printing machine, and other office machinery as needed
  • Ability to position self to maintain files or professional materials
  • When working remotely, must be able to: Self-provide a secure, private, and stable internet connection, Be able to work in a private, reduced-noise environment free from distractions and interruptions, Be able effectively operate virtual meetings per ELA guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Prepare students for all phases of employment, including: Career exploration and awareness, Interview preparation and professional communication, Workplace expectations and Day 1 readiness, Career advancement skills and long-term employability
  • Emphasize employability skills including communication professionalism, teamwork, problem solving, adaptability and accountability
  • Help connect students to networking opportunities through ELA-supported channels
  • Integrate real-world work experiences into curriculum, student expectations, and marketing materials
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, workforce partners, and community organizations
  • Serve as a liaison between education programming and workforce needs
  • Position ELA as a resource for schools and employers seeking prepared, high-quality future employees
  • Provide regular updates on workforce readiness initiatives, partnerships, and report on measurable outcomes
  • Responsible for delivery and facilitation all of ELA programs, delivered both in-person and virtually online. Program delivery typically averages 50% of weekly schedule and at times can be up to 75%
  • Deliver programs employing ELA divergent learning pedagogy, serving as "guide on the side," to enable students to construct meaning from their experiences.
  • Manage the classroom and participants during training by tracking attendance, addressing inappropriate behavior, and documenting performance, both strengths and development needs.
  • Administer the pre/post assessments and develop program impact reports.
  • Form relationships with students and build community and rapport, motivating and inspiring them, giving them confidence to make positive choices in their lives for success in school and beyond.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, school administration, and depending on the program, parents and/or community members.
  • Responsible for all administrative tasks related to program/program preparation, including preparation of program materials/program review/updating PowerPoints to adjust for time and school language.
  • Participate in ELA training and professional development and attend all ELA staff meetings.
  • Work collaboratively and bring a positive mindset to teamwork.
  • Creatively solve problems and bring new ideas for efficiency and growth.
  • Collaborate with ELA staff on a variety of daily administrative tasks and special projects.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
