About The Position

The Workforce & Career Development Specialist supports employee growth, career advancement, and long-term workforce development across both field and office teams. This role works directly with employees to identify career goals, create development plans, understand advancement opportunities, and connect with training, certifications, apprenticeships, mentoring, job shadowing, and leadership development programs. This full-time position is based in Derwent, Ohio, includes both office and field work, and requires periodic travel.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in employee development, training, human resources, or workforce development.
  • Strong coaching skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • A related bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports employee growth, career advancement, and long-term workforce development.
  • Works directly with employees to identify career goals, create development plans, and understand advancement opportunities.
  • Connects employees with training, certifications, apprenticeships, mentoring, job shadowing, and leadership development programs.
  • Partners with supervisors, managers, Human Resources, Safety, and Training to strengthen internal career pathways.
  • Supports succession planning and develops future leaders.
  • Improves employee engagement and retention.
  • Tracks employee progress, certifications, promotions, program participation, and development outcomes.
