Orthopedic Associates (OA) is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist (hybrid) to join our growing team. Requirements

  • Previous experience in Workers’ Compensation
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and the various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility.
  • Must be able to provide required documentation stating that the employee is legal to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workers’ compensation cases from an administrative and compliance standpoint, ensuring accurate documentation, timely form submissions (e.g., C-9, C-84, MEDCO), and adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between providers, patients, internal staff, BWC, MCOs, carriers, and self-insured employers to communicate claim status, authorizations, and next steps.
  • Maintains precise and up-to-date records within electronic medical systems, documenting all actions, conversations, billing activity, and claim updates related to each patient account.
  • Reviews medical documentation and claim details using sound judgment to determine service needs, additional authorizations, billing accuracy, and retro approvals.
  • Supports efficient clinic operations and patient care by preparing WC templates, submitting daily records, auditing claims, following up on outstanding requests, and upholding organizational standards, ethics, and collaboration.
