About The Position

The Workers Compensation Manager is responsible for managing occupational injury and illness cases, coordinating workers' compensation programs, and supporting employee health and return-to-work initiatives. This role oversees case management, regulatory compliance, medical coordination, injury prevention, and occupational health programs while collaborating with HR, safety teams, healthcare providers, and leadership to improve workplace safety and employee well-being.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • COHN or COHN-S certification (or ability to obtain).
  • 7+ years of occupational health nursing or workers' compensation case management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and manufacturing safety.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and case management skills.
  • Experience collaborating with HR, safety teams, TPAs, and healthcare providers.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing or multi-site experience preferred.
  • Training in ergonomics, incident investigation, or safety management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage occupational injury and workers' compensation cases from reporting through resolution.
  • Coordinate medical treatment, referrals, and follow-up care for injured employees.
  • Communicate with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and third-party administrators.
  • Evaluate medical reports and determine work restrictions and return-to-work readiness.
  • Develop and manage return-to-work (RTW) and transitional duty programs.
  • Monitor claim status, costs, and injury trends to reduce claim duration and expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, workers' compensation laws, HIPAA, and company policies.
  • Maintain confidential medical and workers' compensation records.
  • Provide occupational health support, injury assessments, first aid, and medical triage.
  • Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support ergonomic assessments, health surveillance, and wellness initiatives.
  • Deliver safety and injury prevention training.
  • Prepare reports on injury trends, claim performance, and workplace health metrics.
