About The Position

Responsible for administering leaves of absence, including workers' compensation claims. Provides advice, recommendations and claim status communications to employees and managers to ensure leaves of absences are handled in an equitable and consistent manner under EvergreenHealth’s policy and according to governing state and federal laws. Performs vendor management duties overseeing third party claims administration, administering claims within EvergreenHealth’s processes and staff, and coordinates significant claims with HR Business Partner. Administers leaves of absences by coordinating with managers, injured workers, third party claim representatives, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and others to achieve effective and efficient claim/leave processing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related relevant field; equivalent education/experience
  • 5 years of experience working with Workers Compensation claim administration, State and Federal leave laws/requirements and Workers Compensation claims administration
  • 3 years of experience in a combination of Human Resources Assistant, technician or analyst positions
  • Strong interpersonal skills working across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail while managing multiple complex projects and priorities to successfully meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of the inter-relationships between HR functions and Employee Relations
  • Experience with HRIS and Timekeeping/Leave tracking systems
  • Experience in various work and/or Human Resources functions where attaining knowledge of various jobs, specifications and working conditions, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification

Responsibilities

  • Administers and coordinates leaves of absences. Ensures legal compliance in providing information to employees and managers regarding leaves of absence and how benefits and job status will be affected.
  • Coordinates with managers, injured workers, third party claim representatives, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and others to achieve effective and efficient claim/leave processing.
  • Coordinates with the HR Business Partner advising managers with regard to reasonable accommodation leave processing and return to work status due to both work-related and non-work-related injuries.
  • Coordinates with third party administrator to obtain employee leave and work injury statistics. Attend and report data at meetings as requested.
  • Provides advice and assistance to employees on leave and to injured workers and helps receive the benefits to which they are legitimately entitled.
  • Monitors and oversees the efforts of third party leave and work injury administration personnel and processes, represents the interests of EvergreenHealth and its employees and ensures the prompt administration and closure of claims.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
