Workers Compensation Attorney
About The Position
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Workers Compensation team in the Naples office. The attorney will support fellow attorneys with a heavy and complex caseload of workers compensation matters, learn the firm’s approach to handling these cases, and help maximize results for claimants. The position offers the opportunity to work on cases with substantial firm resources and alongside experienced trial attorneys. Morgan & Morgan describes its mission as protecting consumers and representing people against insurance companies, large corporations, and defective goods. The firm reports having more than 6,000 employees and operating across all 50 states, Washington, DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
Requirements
- Law degree from a fully accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida State Bar Association.
- At least 1 year of workers compensation experience.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases through their full life cycle.
- Excellent client service and communication skills.
- Self-starter motivated by long-term career goals.
- Superior writing and oral advocacy skills.
Nice To Haves
- Multiple state bar licenses preferred.
Responsibilities
- Draft and file litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, demands, motions, and memoranda.
- Guide claimants through the case process.
- Interact with expert witnesses, including through conferences and the drafting of expert reports and affidavits.
- Attend and prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and appearances.
