About The Position

Our growing law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join our Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to grow their career in a supportive, team-oriented environment while gaining hands-on litigation experience. This position is primarily in-office, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule after onboarding and training.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar license and in good standing.
  • 1–3 years of California workers' compensation defense experience required.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of California workers' compensation defense matters.
  • Represent employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators throughout the litigation process.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and other case-related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and work closely with clients to provide case updates and legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
