About The Position

The Workers' Compensation Analyst manages all aspects of assigned workers' compensation claims, including investigating reported injuries or illnesses and their causal relationship to work, assessing the nature and extent of disability, and developing a resolution plan in accordance with applicable state and federal statutes and department best practices. The role also educates employees with work-related injuries or illnesses about available statutory benefits, estimates reserves for workplace injury or illness liabilities, manages approved vendor services to maximize return on investment, and travels between Workers' Compensation offices in Connecticut and Rhode Island as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Rhode Island claim adjusting license, as mandated by state regulations, within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of experience in medical insurance, risk management, or a legal office.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage a large caseload while maintaining a pleasant demeanor when dealing with injured workers, medical providers, attorneys, and other third parties.
• Critical-thinking and situational-analysis skills to support strong decision-making.
• Ability to perform light lifting, stooping, and twisting.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in HR or Finance.
• Previous experience in project management or a supervisory capacity.
• Currently holds a Rhode Island claim adjusting license, as mandated by state regulations, to perform certain transactions under the appropriate jurisdiction.

Responsibilities
