About The Position

The Workday Architect is a strategic and technical leader responsible for the design, governance, and optimization of the Workday platform across the organization. This role ensures scalable, secure, and efficient system architecture while partnering with HR, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that support organizational goals. In addition to technical leadership, the Workday Architect plays a key role in mentoring, training, and developing team members, fostering a high-performing and knowledgeable HRIS team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience with Workday, including multiple modules and implementations.
  • Deep expertise in Workday architecture, integrations, and security frameworks.
  • Proven experience designing scalable and maintainable system solutions.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Workday certifications (e.g., HCM, Integrations, Studio, Security).
  • Experience leading Workday implementations or major transformations.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project delivery frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Integrations, Reporting).
  • Establish and enforce system architecture standards, governance, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend new Workday features, releases, and enhancements.
  • Drive roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and data integrity across the Workday ecosystem.
  • Provide technical oversight for complex configurations, integrations, and reports.
  • Lead impact analysis, design reviews, and solution approvals.
  • Oversee Workday integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, APIs) ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Define and maintain data governance standards, including security, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure proper data architecture and reporting frameworks are in place.
  • Lead Workday release management activities, including feature review, testing strategy, and deployment.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during updates.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop HRIS and Workday team members to build technical and functional expertise.
  • Design and deliver training programs, knowledge-sharing sessions, and documentation to elevate team capabilities.
  • Provide guidance on Workday best practices, configuration standards, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability within the team.
  • Support career growth and skill development through coaching, feedback, and stretch assignments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex issues.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, Finance, and business leaders to align Workday solutions with organizational needs.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Influence decision-making through expertise and data-driven recommendations.
