About The Position

This is a work-study position in the Physics Department for Fall 2026. The role involves assisting with laboratory setups, equipment management, and general support for introductory and upper-division physics courses. The student will work in the Physics Stock Room and help maintain teaching spaces.

Requirements

• Major in Physics or Engineering Physics with sufficient background in physics to be able to perform required tasks or completion of an intro level physics course.

Responsibilities

• Set up and take down equipment for introductory level physics courses.
• Prepare laboratory spaces in the Physics Department.
• Assist the Science Lab Manager and Physics faculty in setting up equipment for demonstrations and upper division laboratory courses.
• Perform tasks in the Physics Stock Room including equipment sorting, placement, and minor repairs.
• Help with cleaning and setting up teaching spaces in the Physics Department.
• Assist Physics faculty in preparing lecture demonstrations and other teaching-related tasks.
