About The Position

Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant positions available in the Office of Community-Engaged Learning. These positions are for students who have received and accepted a Financial Aid award for the current semester/year. The role involves assisting with the clerical and outreach aspects of the Office of Community-Engaged Learning.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
  • Must have received and accepted a Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
  • Must have received and accepted a Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must complete required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
  • Must disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years before an offer of employment is extended.
  • Must sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct if they reach the final stages of the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate campus communication about volunteer opportunities for students.
  • Assist with outreach and management of on- and off-campus events.
  • Create and maintain files for various student, faculty, and community events and activities.
  • Provide support on-site at on- and off-campus community events.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes clerical projects interspersed with the day-to-day activities and operations of the department.
  • Compose letters and signage for the campus community.
  • Develop materials for the promotion of service and service learning events in coordination with faculty and other University departments.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and the public via email correspondence, in-person interactions, and/or telephone communications.
  • Assist in the management of various activities, events, and materials for service learning courses.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the online database of program sites for student placements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
