About The Position
The Association for Core Texts and Courses (ACTC) is an independent academic non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting and supporting the teaching of core texts worldwide. ACTC has a Liberal Arts Institute on Mercer’s campus where they manage the corporation's business and organize programs and events. The Institute is seeking a Work Study Student to provide marketing, organizational, and clerical support for ACTC and its Executive Director, Prof. Charlotte Thomas. This is a new and evolving position as the Institute has recently relocated to Mercer. The student will have a significant opportunity to define their role and responsibilities going forward.
Requirements
- Highly developed organizational skills
- Experience with marketing and/or graphic design
- Qualified for Federal work study support
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Mercer’s Great Books program
- Business students or students interested in a career working for non-profits
Responsibilities
- Planning and supporting events and programs
- Designing promotional materials
- Managing social media
- Helping with basic administrative tasks such as mailings, copies, updating databases, and organizing files
