About The Position

The Nuclear Facility Production Maintenance Planner position will provide planning support and expertise for the creation and completion of corrective and preventive maintenance, fabrication, modification, and outage planning at the Y-12 Complex. Focus includes but not limited to: Preparing job packages in accordance with established processes and procedures. Participate in hazard identification and hazard analysis in a nuclear facility. Serve as the primary contact between the organization and the customer requesting maintenance work. Interfaces with technical support groups such as Engineering, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and others to obtain input to proposed job methods. Sequences work activities and develops a job plan to achieve these tasks for work execution. Ensure work permits are obtained, if required to perform the job. Ensuring the necessary materials and supplies specified in job packages are available in a timely manner. Strict application of regulations for environmental, safety and health, security, and plant protection. Ensure that government (federal, state, and local) regulations, rules, and orders applicable to maintenance activities are appropriately applied. Supports the maintenance supervisor in ensuring schedules are developed and met and that job packages provide workers with proper instructions necessary to perform the requested maintenance work tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate degree in related discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A: (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
  • Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
  • This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
  • This position may be categorized as a “designated position” identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications related to planning, work control, maintenance, reliability (i.e.: CMRP, CMRT, CRL, RMIC).
  • Proficiency in fundamental Microsoft Office Suite products and SAP applications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written.
  • A thorough knowledge of basic math, ability to read and interpret blueprints and related data on facilities, equipment, operations, or processes.
  • Good Interactive skills and discipline to adhere to procedural compliance.
  • Sound decision making skills as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in electrical maintenance and/or construction field.
  • Demonstrated ability in mechanical maintenance and/or construction field.
