We are seeking motivated candidates to provide Mechanical Work Control support for the CVN 75 Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH). This is a fully on-site role requiring presence at our Norfolk and Newport News, Virginia locations.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.
  • Candidate must have knowledge and experience with Work Authorization Forms (WAF) and work permit processes.
  • Candidate must have understanding and hands-on experience with ship mechanical systems (Fire main, H.P. & L.P. air, CHT, A/C, chilled water systems) and/or shipboard electrical power and distribution systems.
  • Candidate must have prior U.S. Navy/Shipyard experience with ESOMS/ETAG tagout systems.
  • Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret system drawings and diagrams to determine system isolations for production work.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and perform ship checks on equipment as needed.
  • Position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to have a previously held clearance reactivate or ability to obtain an interim clearance. Any employment offer is contingent upon successful clearance reactivation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior US Navy Experience aboard NIMITZ Class Aircraft Carriers
  • Prior US Navy Experience in Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Ratings
  • Prior experience in a shipyard environment during overhaul.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
  • Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
  • Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
  • Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
  • May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
