We are seeking motivated candidates to provide Mechanical Work Control support for the CVN 75 Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH). This is a fully on-site role requiring presence at our Norfolk and Newport News, Virginia locations.

Requirements

Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.
Candidate must have knowledge and experience with Work Authorization Forms (WAF) and work permit processes.
Candidate must have understanding and hands-on experience with ship mechanical systems (Fire main, H.P. & L.P. air, CHT, A/C, chilled water systems) and/or shipboard electrical power and distribution systems.
Candidate must have prior U.S. Navy/Shipyard experience with ESOMS/ETAG tagout systems.
Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret system drawings and diagrams to determine system isolations for production work.
Candidate must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and perform ship checks on equipment as needed.
Position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to have a previously held clearance reactivate or ability to obtain an interim clearance. Any employment offer is contingent upon successful clearance reactivation.

Nice To Haves

Prior US Navy Experience aboard NIMITZ Class Aircraft Carriers
Prior US Navy Experience in Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Ratings
Prior experience in a shipyard environment during overhaul.

Responsibilities

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
