About The Position

SGP Recruiting's client, a family of SBA-certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified companies, is seeking an Engineering Technician 4 for a full-time, onsite position in Colorado Springs, CO. This role supports a Space Command program focused on the buildup and modernization of facilities. The position requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI. The Engineering Technician 4 will be part of a 10-15 member team working closely with the customer and other program teams to deliver quality systems, focusing on cabling, equipment, and C4ISR system installations.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • BICSI certification required.
  • 5 years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain SCI Government Security Clearance (most currently have Top Secret Clearance).

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the buildup and modernization of facilities across Colorado Springs.
  • Working on a team supporting cabling, equipment and C4ISR system installations.
  • Pulling, terminating, and dressing Category 6A and Fiber Optic cabling.
  • Installing and documenting IT equipment, cable conveyance, antennas and supporting systems.
  • Performing assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selecting or adapting standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents.
  • Receiving initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performing recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
  • Contributing to all phases of the infrastructure installation or upgrade.
  • Pulling and dressing of fiber optic and copper cables.
  • Installation of racks/credenzas and all peripheral equipment.
  • Rack and stacking of equipment in racks/credenzas.
  • Termination of copper cable up to CAT6A and SM/MM Fiber single strand to MPO/MTP.
  • Solving issues related to cables and networks.
  • Testing and recording of all cables.
  • Installation per a SIPH standard IDP, adapt/troubleshoot/modify where necessary, and provide redlines back to an AutoCAD drafter for As-built updates.
  • Resolving technical/physical issues often requiring coordination with other disciplines: networking, facilities, HVAC, electrical, security, etc.
  • Conducting and documenting PITCO and SOVT activities.
  • Training other team members or subcontract staff as required to accomplish work activities.
