About The Position

The Woodyard Loader Operator is responsible for mixing raw materials according to specifications to ensure production is set up for upcoming days, ensuring proper blend and moisture content. This role involves receiving and inspecting incoming loads of raw materials, separating them by species, and loading the infeed bin according to production schedule requirements. The operator will also conduct loader inspections, perform maintenance, and communicate with co-workers regarding workflow status. This position operates in an industrial manufacturing setting near fast-moving, heavy automated equipment, requiring clear communication and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years loader operation experience in an industrial setting highly preferred.
  • Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audio alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in English to accurately read, interpret, and execute equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and machine operation manuals.
  • Sufficient English verbal skills to clearly and instantly report machine malfunctions, near-misses, or unsafe floor conditions to supervisors and team members.
  • Good eye, hand and foot coordination.
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and multi-task.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis and stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs to get in and out of loader with no fear of confined spaces or heights.
  • Ability to do simple math calculations, use basic tools, and exhibit mechanical aptitude when conducting loader maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Load infeed bin per production schedule requirements.
  • Conduct loader inspections and perform loader maintenance.
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding status of work flow.
  • Other accountabilities as required.
