About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a woodwinds teacher to provide private music lessons and help students build a lifelong relationship with music. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels, and uses musical expertise to inspire their development. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The listed pay is $15 per hour for non-teaching work and $10–$24 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. Musicians may be eligible for gig leave to take time off to perform and return to their job afterward. The role is at Store #1309.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
Two years of music teaching experience, especially with woodwind instruments.

Nice To Haves

Further teaching experience with related instruments.
Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.

Responsibilities

Teach music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
Build positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates.
Partner with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention.
Share musical expertise to inspire students and foster their growth.
Create an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment.
