About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a woodwinds teacher to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels; builds positive relationships with students and parents through communication, goal-setting, and progress updates; and works with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The listed pay is $16.00 per hour for non-teaching work and $10–$20 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. The role also offers gig leave for musician employees and benefits including a 401(k) with company match and an employee discount program. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, other factors, and location.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of music teaching experience, especially with woodwind instruments.

Nice To Haves

• Further teaching experience with related instruments.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments: banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.

Responsibilities
