Percussion Teacher (Store #1309)
About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking a percussion educator to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The teacher will create an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels. They will communicate with students and parents about goals and progress, work with store teams on lesson scheduling and student retention, and use their musical expertise to foster student growth. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The role offers a non-teaching rate of $15 per hour and a teaching rate of $10–$24 per hour, depending on background and experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of music teaching experience, especially with percussion.
Nice To Haves
- Further teaching experience with related instruments.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
- 8+ years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
Responsibilities

- Partner with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention.
