Women's Merchandising Summer Internship
About The Position
The Women's Merchandising Summer Internship supports the Express brand at PHOENIX Retail, LLC. It is part of the PHOENIX Internship Program, a paid, 10-week program offering rising junior and senior undergraduates and graduate students hands-on experience, exposure to a multi-brand retail company, cross-functional collaboration, and professional skill development. The Summer 2027 program runs from June 2 to August 5, 2027, and is based at the company’s Columbus, Ohio headquarters. Interns participate in professional development workshops, networking and mentorship sessions, a cross-functional group project, group outings, social events, and volunteer opportunities. The intern will learn about the Express customer and current trends while supporting merchandising work from product development through launch. Applicants must be available to work 40 hours per week, follow a four-days-in-office approach, relocate to the office location at their own expense, and commit to the full program. Housing accommodations are not provided. A GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States; the company does not sponsor work visas for this position.
Requirements
- Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the entire 10-week program from June 2 to August 5, 2027.
- Available to work in the office four days per week.
- Able to relocate to the Columbus office location; housing accommodations are not provided.
- Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities
- Understand the customer through direct competitive patterning, trend patterning, and in-store feedback and experience.
- Research current trends through runway, aspirational brands, and social platforms, and communicate those trends to leadership.
- Oversee sample management and the ordering process.
- Maintain merchant financial and product reporting and recaps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support smooth execution from product development through style launch.
