About The Position

The Women's Merchandising Summer Internship supports the Express brand and is part of the PHOENIX Internship Program, a paid, 10-week program offering rising junior and senior undergraduates and graduate students hands-on experience, exposure to a multi-brand retail company, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to develop professional skills. The program runs from June 2 to August 5, 2027, at PHOENIX Retail, LLC's Columbus, Ohio headquarters. Interns are expected to work full-time, 40 hours per week, follow the four-days-in-office approach, relocate to the office location, and commit to the full program. Housing accommodations are not provided. The intern will learn about the Express customer and merchandising process, research and communicate trends, manage samples, maintain financial and product reporting, and collaborate with cross-functional partners. The program also includes professional development workshops, networking and mentorship opportunities, a cross-functional group project, group outings, social events, and volunteer opportunities.

Requirements

Be a rising junior or senior undergraduate or a graduate student.
Be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
Be able to embrace the four-days-in-office approach.
Relocate to the Columbus office location; housing accommodations are not provided.
Commit to the entire 10-week program, June 2 through August 5, 2027.
Be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; the company does not sponsor work visas for this position.

Responsibilities

Understand the customer through direct competitive patterning, trend patterning, and in-store feedback and experience.
Research current trends through runway, aspirational brands, and social platforms, and communicate trends to Leadership.
Oversee the sample management and ordering process.
Maintain Merchant Financial and Product Reporting/Recaps.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support smooth execution from product development through the launch of styles.
