About The Position

Axia Women's Health is a large, integrated women's health network serving women across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Kentucky. With over 400 providers in nearly 150 locations, Axia is dedicated to providing a progressive healthcare experience for women, encompassing OB/GYN care, breast health, high-risk pregnancy care, urogynecology, behavioral health, and fertility. Cherry Hill OB/GYN, a part of Axia Women's Health with 10 providers, is seeking a Full-Time Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) to work across three New Jersey office locations: Mount Laurel, Turnersville, and Hammonton. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, specialized care to women throughout their lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of healthcare principles, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, make sound clinical judgments, and adapt treatment plans as necessary.
  • Effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures clearly and empathetically.
  • Strong computer proficiency and understanding and knowledge of EHR and healthcare technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education and stay updated on advances in Women’s Health.
  • Must be able to work at each practice location as scheduled - Mount Laurel, Turnersville, and Hammonton, NJ
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP).
  • Board certification in WHNP, FNP, or ANP
  • 1-2 years’ advanced practice experience in Women's Health.
  • Experience with high-risk Ob patients

Responsibilities

  • Practices under the standard procedure established for the Nurse Practitioner role consistent with company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
  • Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
  • Performs routine physical examinations within scope of practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings. Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform Colposcopies.
  • Provides education on women’s issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Orders diagnostic tests and prescribes medications within scope of practice.
  • Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care.
  • Manages prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum visits, screening for pregnancy complications and evaluating physical and mental wellbeing after birth.
  • Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care.
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient needs and assessment findings.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to ensure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
  • Reviews medical record for follow-up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
