About The Position

The Coldwater House, located at 240 Coldwater Rd provides case management, life skills, spiritual enrichment and housing to 6-11 families (women and children only). This role reports to the Director of Programs. This program is in development to include transitional housing for up to 2 women who are non-custodial parents. This onsite supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day direction to staff, clients and volunteers for the Coldwater House Program, that is in alignment with the mission "Restoring hope and changing lives". As the Supervisor in the residential programs this leader should reflect the core values of Open Door Mission which Faith, Family, Compassion, Community, Stewardship. Position will supervise the onsite staff by training and orienting new hires and performing bi-monthly supervision meetings with each staff member, escalating performance concerns to the Manager. This position provides oversight to case management for families who are homeless with mental health, substance abuse, and/or experiencing other co-morbid disorders. This position will lead weekly House Meeting, oversee and rotate leading Bible Study and Life Skills classes. At times this may include overseeing the children and implementing activities with them while staff lead class.

Requirements

  • Ministry minded Christian with a commitment to and a passion for Changing Lives and Restoring Hope
  • Progressive and current experience with case management in trauma services or residential program
  • Proven ability to use initiative, judgement and resourcefulness and ability to make decisions and to lead shift successfully
  • Strong Interpersonal skills - exercise compassion and discernment
  • Experienced group facilitator
  • Levelheaded, with demonstrated proficiency in mediation and conflict resolution
  • Able and willing to honor the leadership, chain of command, standards and ministry objectives of ODM
  • Able to complete documents, reports and accurately record information via email and/or client database systems
  • Willing to continue education as needed or required
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Valid New York state driver's license, with driving record acceptable to insurance carrier
  • College degree or Certification related to behavioral health industry (addiction, mental health, trauma) with a minimum of 2 years directly related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leads each shift in a respectful manner and according to ODM policies and in alignment with Coldwater House Program goals
  • Ensure proper staff scheduling, filling in as needed or required to ensure 24/7 coverage
  • Communicates clearly and thoroughly with staff on shift and incoming shift regarding resident and community issues
  • Responsible to report any staff or resident issues using documentation systems
  • Responsible to promptly report emergency concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Responsible to place food orders, supply requests and maintenance orders through appropriate departments
  • Oversee volunteer activities and delegate task when necessary
  • Provides training to new staff during probationary periods, and continual coaching to existing staff
  • Provides input to Manager for performance reviews, corrective actions, hiring or separation decisions
  • Facilitate weekly house meetings and monthly supervision with all staff
  • May facilitate group prayer, devotional etc. within the agency
  • Facilitate weekly Bible study and Life Skills classes as needed and in rotation
  • Oversee and facilitate children activities/ministry
  • Lead intake and assessments of incoming clients, ensures documentation is accurately completed and filed, this will also include maintaining a relationship with community for networking and building network.
  • Responsible to calculate and collect program fees
  • Responsible to complete FHLS monthly sheet and submit to Manager
  • Facilitate groups on substance use and/or behavioral health needs
  • Ensures completion of room inspections or drug screens as needed or required of clients for both sites
  • In collaboration with client, identify goals for client while in program
  • Ensure completion of referrals for clients seeking permanent housing, employment, social services, etc
  • Responsible for all aspects of client projects and outings, or delegate and supervise appropriately as needed
  • Provide encouragement to residents that is in accordance with the direction established by the Program Manager and the values of Open Door Mission
  • Provide direct client care with children on an as-needed basis which may include but not limited to clients struggling with physical, spiritual, emotional or mental illness, alcoholism, drug abuse and other conditions that contribute to their homelessness
  • Utilize designated software to enter resident information and case notes
  • Communicate and reinforce program guidelines to residents and staff
