About The Position

Recovery Works NW is a family-owned, community-based organization providing innovative, judgment-free, and compassionate care for people experiencing substance use and mental health-related distress. The Withdrawal Program Lead plays a key role in the daily operations of the withdrawal management facility, supporting staff and helping ensure high-quality care for individuals undergoing detoxification from alcohol and drugs. This position serves as a clinical and operational resource, assists with program implementation, promotes compliance with applicable standards, and collaborates with internal teams and community partners to support patients as they begin their recovery journey.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment, with at least 2 years in a Lead or supervisory role.
  • Solid experience with direct patient care is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of detoxification protocols, withdrawal symptoms, and medication-assisted treatments.
  • Familiarity with various substance abuse treatment modalities, including individual counseling, group therapy, and support groups.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions in complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and providing compassionate care.
  • Understanding of legal and ethical considerations related to substance abuse treatment and patient care.
  • CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the withdrawal management (detox) program to ensure a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of program policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor program activities to help ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Identify operational challenges and collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and enhance service delivery.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, and support to clinical, support, housekeeping, and kitchen staff.
  • Own staff scheduling and daily work assignments to maintain adequate coverage and efficient operations.
  • Address routine staff concerns and escalate complex personnel matters to management as appropriate.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
  • Help ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to all patients receiving withdrawal management services.
  • Support patient discharge coordination processes.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate concerns or recommendations to the appropriate clinical team members.
  • Serve as a resource for patients, families, and staff regarding program operations and services.
  • Monitor the facility environment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness, overseeing housekeeping and kitchen operations to support patient care and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols, food service standards, and facility safety requirements.
  • Assist in addressing patient concerns, incident reports, and operational issues, implementing corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to program improvement initiatives.
  • Assist leadership with audits, inspections, reporting requirements, and quality improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
