About The Position

Join Apple’s wireless silicon development team, which develops energy-efficient wireless silicon and technologies that enhance the product experience. As part of a vertically integrated engineering organization, you will deliver end-to-end RF integration solutions, including DUT control development, pre-silicon emulation and simulation, and integrated RF calibration. The role connects design development through product mass production and includes Wireless SoC RF bring-up, silicon validation, and compliance. It offers opportunities to develop technical expertise across hardware and software, including wireless transceiver architecture, RF systems and DSP, software frameworks, RF drivers, and embedded systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Solid experience with RF parametric testing, such as IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, and load pull.
  • Strong working knowledge of RF test equipment, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and vector signal generators.
  • Strong wireless RF background and familiarity with RF systems fundamentals, RF transceiver architectures, and/or digital communication.
  • Proficiency in understanding RFIC block-level design schematics.
  • Some experience with RF PCB board design, debugging, and development.
  • Experience with embedded systems and the C programming language.
  • Experience developing automation frameworks.

Nice To Haves

  • Python programming proficiency is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate end-to-end RF DUT control sequences and verify them using an emulation system.
  • Bring up Wireless SoC RF functionality.
  • Design and develop RF block and/or system calibrations, including algorithms and optimizations.
  • Optimize and characterize RF performance, including Psat, mask, IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, lock time, and return loss.
  • Design RF test benches and implement scripts to control Wireless SoC devices and communicate with test equipment.
  • Write scripts to plot, parse, and analyze large data sets.
  • Generate RF performance summary reports comparing characterization results with chip specifications.
  • Develop RF calibrations and tests for Wafer ATE and Module ATE mass production, and analyze ATE failures.
  • Develop RF firmware based on Python reference scripts.
  • Perform first-touch Wireless SoC RF bring-up and deliver final silicon validation results and compliance.
