About The Position

Join Apple’s Wireless team to help test next-generation Wireless SoCs and support development from silicon through products. The role works with software and hardware engineers across areas including cellular modems, connectivity solutions, device drivers, CPUs and caching, kernel programming, and embedded systems. You will collaborate with designers and architects to understand functional blocks and use cases; develop, debug, and integrate tests for wireless chipsets, digital interfaces, power management subsystems, and end-to-end wireless stress scenarios; and investigate issues surfaced during testing. The position also involves developing functional test coverage in bare-metal firmware, supporting pre-silicon platform and silicon bring-up, working with other teams to move tests into pre-silicon environments, and supporting product development builds locally and remotely. You will help design and test frameworks that scale to test racks and large-scale testing, and work with hardware design engineers and cross-functional teams to debug suspected hardware issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++.
  • Experience with embedded software.
  • Experience with hardware/software interaction.
  • Familiarity with computer, system, or SoC architecture.
  • Experience with, or interest in, writing code to test I/O devices or functional units.
  • Assembly language programming skills.
  • Familiarity with bench debug equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and DMMs.
  • Knowledge of digital logic fundamentals, including timing analysis, state-machine debugging, and/or RTL or test-bench development.
  • Basic Wi-Fi or Bluetooth protocol knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug, and integrate tests for wireless chipsets, digital interfaces, power management subsystems, and end-to-end wireless use cases.
  • Stress functional blocks and investigate issues discovered during testing.
  • Work with designers and architects to understand functional blocks and their use cases.
  • Develop functional test coverage in bare-metal firmware to stress-test chipsets.
  • Support pre-silicon platform and silicon bring-up and testing.
  • Collaborate with other groups to move tests into pre-silicon environments.
  • Work with hardware design engineers and cross-functional teams to debug silicon issues and suspected hardware problems.
  • Architect and test frameworks that scale to test racks and large-scale testing.
  • Support product development builds locally and remotely.
