Wireless Module Test Engineer

Apple•Sunnyvale, CA

About The Position

The Wireless Module Test Engineer will design and drive strategies for high-volume RF module testing at module factories, following internal processes and objectives. The role involves researching, designing, and developing test methodologies across wireless technologies—including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, GPS, cellular, and NFC—and planning test strategies for multiple chipsets. The engineer will develop and implement test solutions at module factories from new product introduction (NPI) through high-volume mass production, own and debug factory test stations, and coordinate module testing with upstream and downstream tests across vendors. The role also drives implementation of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) solutions with module vendors, fixture suppliers, and test vendors. The engineer analyzes NPI and mass-production data and works with cross-functional teams to improve production yields, test times, and manufacturing test capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Programming experience in C, C++, MATLAB, Python, or a similar language.
  • Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment.
  • Experience working with and programming high-volume ATE testers, such as LitePoint, Advantest, and Teradyne.
  • Familiarity with communication and debug interfaces, including SPI, SWD, PCIe, and JTAG protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree with 3 or more years of relevant industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of wireless technologies.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional decision-making and collaborate with upstream and downstream test teams to develop an end-to-end product testing strategy.
  • High self-motivation and ability to lead vendors and test partners and establish effective test strategies.
  • Expertise in hardware and software integration, problem-solving, and optimization.
  • Experience in data and yield analysis, including 6-Sigma analysis; proficiency with JMP or similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience designing, validating, and debugging DUT control boards.
  • Experience using generative AI tools to accelerate data analysis, troubleshoot test programs, and improve debugging efficiency.
