Wireless Module Test Engineer

Apple•Sunnyvale, CA

About The Position

The Wireless Module Test Engineer will design and drive strategies for high-volume RF module testing at module factories, following internal processes and objectives. The role researches, designs, and develops test methodologies for multiple wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, GPS, cellular, and NFC, and plans test strategies across multiple chipsets. The engineer designs, develops, and implements test solutions at module factories from new product introduction (NPI) through high-volume mass production. They own and debug factory test stations, coordinate module testing with upstream and downstream tests across vendors, and drive module vendors, fixture suppliers, and test vendors to implement Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) solutions. The role also analyzes NPI and production data and works with cross-functional teams to improve yields, test times, and production capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Matlab, Python, or a similar language.
  • Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment.
  • Experience working with and programming high-volume ATE testers, such as LitePoint, Advantest, and Teradyne.
  • Familiarity with communication and debug interfaces, including SPI, SWD, PCIe, and JTAG protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • MSEE or Ph.D. with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of wireless technologies.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional decision-making and collaborate with upstream and downstream test teams to develop comprehensive end-to-end product testing strategies.
  • Ability to lead vendors and test partners and establish effective test strategies.
  • Expertise in hardware and software integration, problem-solving, and optimization.
  • Experience in data and yield analysis, including Six Sigma analysis; proficiency with JMP or similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience designing, validating, and debugging DUT control boards.
  • Experience using generative AI tools to accelerate data analysis, troubleshoot test programs, and improve debugging efficiency.
