About The Position

The Wire Transfer Clerk processes wire transfers, checks for fraud and validates sufficient funds. The individual handles customer support dealing with wire transfers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years of clerical experience
  • Banking experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word
  • Basic keyboarding and calculator skills
  • Must be able to do simple math and carry out written instructions

Responsibilities

  • Processes all incoming and outgoing transfers
  • Validates the availability of funds prior to submission of wire transfer
  • Verifies outgoing wires with the information on the profile database, following written procedures in place
  • Assists in reconciling daily wire activity
  • Handles customer requests, inquiries and complaints, referring to supervisor when necessary
  • Performs call backs on wire transfers over designated dollar volume to limit the exposure for Fraud
  • Performs data entry as needed for tracking of product volumes, ACH and RDC
