The Boeing Company's Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Seat Wire Integration (SWI) Electrical Design organization is seeking a Wiring Design and Installation Engineer in North Charleston, SC. This role is crucial in defining the future of commercial aerospace by contributing innovative ideas that advance the company's culture of safety and quality. The engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs, with a primary focus on critical electrical cable/wire harness installation, detail, and assembly designs. This includes defining the physical routing of wires throughout the aircraft, considering factors such as wire supports, brackets, separation for safety, parts selection, and environmental impacts, all while prioritizing safety and quality. The role also involves developing and analyzing engineering design dispositions for discrepancies, collaborating with factory floor partners for efficient and safe design implementation, and improving documented processes, specifications, and procedures. Additionally, the engineer will develop basic statements of work, participate in technical reviews of supplier capabilities, analyze functional and physical requirements for integrated designs and system architecture, and support critical analysis and design reviews. This position will work under the general supervision of a lead engineer and mentor, focusing heavily on 787 seats and interiors.
