About The Position

Cooper Electric Supply, LLC is an electrical products and services distributor serving contractors throughout the Northeast and is part of the Sonepar group. The Wire Cutter reviews customer orders, determines the appropriate reel and wire specifications, and measures and cuts wire to customer requirements. The role also involves labeling completed cuts, handling reels, replenishing wire stock, and maintaining an organized, clean, and safe wire room in a distribution center warehouse.

Requirements

Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
Attention to detail and good time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to exercise safety while carrying out job responsibilities.
Ability to stand and walk for the full length of the assigned shift.
Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier items may be handled with proper equipment.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform duties.
Ability to safely operate appropriate powered industrial trucks; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Review customer tickets and determine the appropriate reel size and the type, size, and color of wire needed to complete each order.
Measure and cut wire accurately to customer specifications.
Label completed wire cuts with applicable information, including the customer label.
Unload empty reels and load new reels onto the wire machine.
Restock and replenish wire on wire-cutting racks.
Maintain organization and housekeeping in the wire room.
Maintain a clean and safe working area.
Follow standard operating procedures and OSHA safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
