About The Position

Rexel USA is hiring a Wire Cutter for its Mayer team in Douglasville, Georgia. The role is responsible for efficiently and accurately fulfilling wire and cable cut orders using material handling equipment and wire reeling or coiling machinery. The Wire Cutter ensures wire and cable are stored, staged, and cut in accordance with company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity, and may fill in for other warehouse roles. Pay and level depend on experience, knowledge, and capabilities. The position requires following safety procedures, conducting daily machine checks, operating material handling equipment safely, inspecting wire for conformance to specifications, preparing accurate and undamaged outbound shipments, and maintaining productivity and accuracy standards. The employee may also be assigned other duties as needed.

Requirements

At least 1 year of wire-cutting experience is preferred.
Prior warehouse or distribution center experience is a plus.
Forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment operating certification is preferred.
High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Knowledge of radio-frequency scanning devices is preferred.
Willingness to be trained on forklift, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle equipment, and stand-up rider pallet jack in accordance with OSHA safety training requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
If required to make deliveries: valid driver's license; at least 21 years of age; pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record reviews; obtain verification of a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire; no driver's-license suspension related to a traffic accident or violation in the past 3 years; and no at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe work environment and follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; address safety concerns immediately.
Perform daily machine checks and safely operate material handling and powered material handling equipment.
Retrieve and cut wire accurately and efficiently for customer shipments, inspect it for conformance to specifications, and remove defective pieces.
Fill orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Load wire reels onto the payout spindle, thread wire through feed rolls, and adjust machine controls for factors such as wire thickness, pressure, heat, and cutting or stripping length.
Stack and store merchandise in the appropriate area and stage wire cuts in the appropriate shipping area.
Meet company standards for wire-cut accuracy and productivity.
Immediately report damage to electronic hardware, work machines, or pipe racks to a supervisor.
Fill in for other warehouse roles and perform other duties as assigned.
