About The Position

Arterra Wines Canada is the leading producer and distributor of award-winning and globally recognized Canadian and imported wines. Associates are responsible for providing consistent and exceptional hospitality to all visitors by offering an entertaining and informative overall tour and tasting experiences for each individual or group of visitors with the ultimate goal of achieving sales. Ideal candidates for the Vineyard Associate position will have experience in the hospitality industry, with wine knowledge being a significant asset. Candidates we select must be energetic, personable, optimistic, and responsible. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Multiple positions available.

Requirements

Smart Serve certification
18 years of age or older
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Motivation to exceed sales targets
Critical thinking and decision-making ability
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible and trustworthy
Ambitious and goal-oriented
Ability to lift 40 lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods
Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

Previous service experience would be an asset
Wine knowledge an asset, but not necessary as training is provided

Responsibilities

Assist customers with their wine tastings and purchases, while providing exceptional and professional customer service.
Conduct entertaining and informative winery tours, including structured tastings for tour groups.
Operate a computerized point-of-sale system and perform opening and closing duties.
Assist with the organization of special events.
Representing the winery at off-site events.
Stocking wine and gift items.
Perform general housekeeping duties.
