About The Position

This position directs and leads the overall efforts within the branch-assigned area to maximize product sales, distribution and profitability. Developing, motivating and managing a multi-layered sales team is an essential responsibility of this role. The role requires establishing and achieving goals and objectives for volume sales achievement and trade contact development. The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales plans and increasing the distribution of the company’s portfolio in the assigned territory. They will ensure successful execution of ABS programming by sales team within the assigned territory and serve as key contact with supplier personnel to execute sales and marketing plans in the assigned area. Maintaining budgetary guidelines effectively and efficiently, overseeing all quality assurance efforts, and motivating the sales team to achieve branch and area sales, distribution, and merchandising goals are also key functions. The role involves managing the daily activities of direct reports within the assigned territory, assessing and developing associate skill levels, effectively evaluating each direct report, and providing personal development plans for each individual. Responsibility for the overall management of company property, including but not limited to company vehicles, is also included.

Requirements

  • Degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of sales management experience in a multi-layered sales organization, including experience managing frontline and supervisory staff.
  • Sales experience in retail and consumer goods desired.
  • Intermediate ability with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Comfort level using apps and technology to deliver effective sales presentations.
  • Superior communication and relationship-building ability.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuous desire to improve.

Nice To Haves

  • Beverage and beer experience is a strong plus.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word a plus.
