About The Position

Whether you have experience as a bartender, are a retail customer service enthusiast, or someone who enjoys helping others discover new favorites, this role puts you at the heart of the guest experience. As a Wine & Spirits Clerk/Cashier, you’ll be part of a team that helps guests find the perfect pairing for any occasion—from local craft beers to premium wines and specialty spirits. You’ll work closely with your team leaders to keep the department running smoothly, while providing friendly, knowledgeable service that makes shopping enjoyable and easy.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age in order to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
  • Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Product Guide: Help guests find what they’re looking for, offer recommendations, and take special orders.
  • Deliver Great Service: Answer questions, resolve concerns, and ensure every guest leaves feeling supported.
  • Support the Team: Work alongside associates and leadership to meet department goals and maintain high standards.
  • Keep Things Running: Maintain inventory levels, ensure accurate pricing, and keep shelves stocked and organized.
  • Operate the Register: Check out purchases with accuracy and a smile.
  • Ensure Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
  • Communicate & Collaborate: Work with vendors, managers, and fellow associates to exceed expectations.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
  • Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.
